Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen
Product Name Conway Stewart Model 55
Manufacturer and Year Conway Stewart, made in England -- 1940s.
Length 5-3/16"
Filling System Lever fill fountain pen. We replaced the sac and it's working very well. We guarantee the filling system for one year from the date of purchase.
Color Green marble pen with pearlescence. It has three cap bands and a black domed end piece above the clip and a flat bottom. It has gold plated trim.
Nib MEDIUM 14k Duro nib. Firm, no flex or line variation. From the underside of the nib, you'll see a short, fine hairline crack in the right tine which cannot be seen from the top of the nib. This is well away from the tipping material, and since the nib is not flexible the nib should be fine with normal light pressure. If you are heavy handed, this is not the pen for you.
Condition Excellent condition with no chips, dents, or dings. This is a beautifully colored pen that is shiny and in a classic vintage design. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip as well as moderate scratching. There are some small, deep marks near the end of the barrel (most likely bite marks). The lever has some pitting and plating wear. The cap has moderate to some heavy scratching especially near the top of the cap where there are quite a few small, deep bite marks and scratches. The triple cap band looks great with just some light microscratching. The clip has plating wear, especially along the edges of the end piece and some small dots of pitting. The clip ring has almost complete plating wear. The imprint is clear.
