Product Description
Type fountain pen, lever filler
Product Name There is no model number imprint, and we can't find this early pen in our Conway Stewart reference book or the online references. It's got a Conway Stewart clip and "lollypop" lever, that's the only elements that suggest Conway Stewart. They did make pens for some department stores, so that might be the origin of this simple pen.
Manufacturer and Year Conway Stewart -- 1920s or 1930s (England)
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System The pen fills via a lever. We replaced the bladder and it is working well, and we will guarantee the filling system for a year.
Color Black chased hard rubber with gold plated trim.
Nib MEDIUM-BROAD flexible 14k nib with a left oblique cut. Please see writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a nice example of a black chased hard rubber vintage fountain pen. The chasing on the cap is still mostly visible. The chasing on the barrel has faded but can be seen near the end of the barrel. The color has faded to a dark chocolate brown from the original shiny black that can be seen under the cap. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and light scratching. The cap has moderate scratching. The lever has brassing, plating wear and pitting. The double cap band has moderate microscratching, plating wear and pitting along most of the edges. The clip has brassing, plating wear on the ball end and along the edges. The clip band has heavy scratching, almost as if it were scratched by some sort of instrument. The imprint is faded and only partially legible.
