Product Description
Type Lever filling vintage fountain pen and mechanical pencil set, fully restored.
Product Name Endura (the imprint is clear on the barrel).
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, Toledo, Ohio – this line of pens began circa 1924.
Length Fountain pen is Senior sized, just a hair over 5-1/4". The pencil is 5-5/16".
Filling System The pen is a lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. The pencil takes 1.1mm "thick" leads, which are extended and retracted by twisting the top knob.
Color Lapis, lovely mottled shades of blue. There are some grooves around the barrel which were once filled with an orange color. Some of that has faded, but it's still visible.
Nib FINE Gold nib marked Conklin Endura U.S.A. Firm and smooth, with nice, appropriate tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition. The fountain pen has some light scratches on the cap and barrel. There is some brassing and tiny dots of plating wear along the edges of the cap band, and around the upper edge of the clip. There's a little bit of plating wear on the back end of the lever. The pencil has light scratching on the barrel. The color on the pencil has darkened slightly, but it's still a good companion to the pen. The decorative bands near the top look great. The clip has some plating wear and some flaking along the edges. The nose cone has light brassing. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, and no personalization. The imprints are clear. Fully restored and working well.
