Filling System Piston filling system. It works very well.
Color The Mount Everest model celebrates the Earth's highest mountain. The cap, section, and piston knob are grey and the barrel is silver colored with gold lines mimicking the first morning rays of sun hitting the peaks, and Everest bathed in the light; the entire barrel has a smooth, clear lacquer finish. The M640 differs from most Pelikan fountain pens by having lengthwise curvature to the barrel and a different cap design. It has rhodium plated trim.
Nib Fine 18k two-tone nib. It's very smooth and nicely springy.
Condition Excellent + condition. Almost no handwear, but the piston knob originally had a metal endcap that is no longer there (The plastic is smooth and it doesn't look like something has broken off, though there's a hint of the original glue that secured the endpiece.) No cracks or scratches. The pelican on the cap jewel looks great and the trim is perfect. The trim on the collar looks perfect; it's hard to find nib collars as clean as this one. It ships in the original grey box with paperwork.
