Product Name Diplomat
Manufacturer and Year Diamond Medal, Chicago, Illinois -- 1930s
Length 5-1/2"

Color Black and Pearl. Gold filled trim. Two eggshell bands near the top of the cap and end of the barrel. 3/8" 3-part cap band. Black flat top and barrel end.
Nib FINE 14k #8 nib. Firm and smooth. Some scratches can be seen on the nib toward the tip. There's a small crack descending from the breather hole, but it is very short and will not cause any issues or get worse because the nib does not flex.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is an extra large oversized pen with a great color pattern, and excellent shine. The coloration has ambered, especially on the lower part of the cap and on the barrel. Even so, the color looks nice. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and from posting. It has moderate scratching, especially near the end and adjacent the lever. The lever has some plating wear and pitting along the edges but is otherwise in great condition. The cap has light to moderate scratching with some marks above the top of the clip and just below the eggshell band. The cap bands have small scratches but no brassing. The clip has one dot of plating wear on the ball end and some microscratching along the sides. The "DIPLOMAT" imprint running down the length of the clip looks great. The imprints have some white paint left and they are clear all around.
