Product Description
Type dip pen holder with nib
Product Name Model name unknown
Manufacturer and Year E.J. Wirtz, USA -- Late 1800s or early 1900s. The holder is unmarked, we only see this .
Length Just over 6" with the nib installed.
Filling System Dip pen and holder with no ink reservoir. You dip the nib into ink and write.
Color Translucent pearl colored handle with small barb like protrusions. It tapers towards the end and has a smooth gold filled gripping portion.
Nib Fine flexible gold nib. It is marked "E.J. Wirtz Chicago" on the face. See the writing sample below. We used regular fountain pen ink for the writing sample, but for best performance (i.e. no railroading) you'll want to use a thicker ink.
Condition Excellent + condition. The handle has a few marks on it and some yellow residue near the gold filled section. The nib looks good with an easily read imprint. It ships in what is probably its original case with small latches to keep it closed. There are ink stains in the cloth lining.
