Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips, but we do note some shallow dents and dings in the gold overlay. This is a lovely, slender vintage pen with no clip. The hard rubber is fully intact with moderate fading in the filigree cutouts. There is a lot of shallow denting on the cap, mostly near the top, likely tooth marks, as well as light scratching. The barrel overlay has light scratching. There is some brassing along the edges of the overlay on both cap and barrel. The (nib) imprint is clear.
There is a scratch on the hard rubber under the filigree, but we did not find that it leaked so we don't think it is a crack. On the off-chance it is a hairline crack, we applied a coat of "Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure" to the interior of the barrel just to be sure.
The cartouche is very faintly personalized with the name "Elsie". In hand, this mostly looks like scratching, but under magnification you can just make it out as a name.
