Product Description
Type Dip Pen
Product Name Arrow, as written on the nib holder
Manufacturer and Year Eagle Pencil Co., USA -- Early 1900s, the patent date is 1887.
Length 4-3/8" retracted and about 6" extended with a nib installed. Different nibs alter the extended length.
Filling System Dip pen. You put the nib in ink, write and re-dip as needed. Fountain pen ink is usually too thin for good writing. This pen has a retractable nib holder system for travel. When pressing the button at the top and holding it upright, the end opens and the nib drops into position. You hold the holder upside down and press the button to get the holder to retract. It does fully retract with a nib installed.
Color Black painted metal body with silver colored trim.
Nib A variety of dip pen nibs will fit. The current one installed is a Hunt 58 EF University Round Pointed steel nib. It is a very flexible extra fine nib.
Condition Excellent condition. There are marks throughout of missing paint. The largest part of the missing paint is just beneath the metal at the top of the pen. All of the trim is brassed with a few dings. The retractable mechanism works very well and the holder looks good in hand.
