Filling System Cartridge/converter. A Pelikan converter is installed; it has a maki-e decoration of a Kabuki mask. The interior of the converter is slightly stained blue.
Color Green, black, and red/orange striped Nikko ebonite, custom-made for this collaboration. The barrel also has the letters "Kabuki" engraved in gold.
Nib Fine 14k Bock nib.
Condition Excellent + condition. The cap and barrel have light surface marks and signs of usage, but in hand the pen looks fantastic. No cracks, chips, scratches, dents, or dings. The gold lettering looks perfect, as does the decoration on the converter. The pen is polished to a lovely glossy finish.
This design was inspired by the inspired by the pattern of curtains used on the stage of Kabuki. Kabuki is one of Japan's classical theater artforms and is included in UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
