Product Description
Type Ornate sterling dip pen holder/handle with flexible Armeny & Marion nib
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Edward Todd & Co. (The Todd imprint is partially seen in the photo below.)
Length 5-3/4" (holder only, not counting nib)
Filling System None, this is a dip pen so you dip the nib in ink. There's no ink reservoir and no feed, so you need to use the right ink and re-dip a lot. You can't use regular fountain pen ink. (Our writing sample was done using fountain pen ink, and you can't get more than a stroke or two with this ink.)
Color Sterling silver, with a lovely fiddlehead fern pattern on it.
Nib FINE nib is marked Armeny & Marion. Good tipping material. You are probably going to have to use something close to India ink .... we couldn't get more than a few strokes with fountain pen ink without having to re-dip. See writing sample below.
Condition Gorgeous! No dents or dings or personalization, though the sterling that holds the nib in place has some small dents and marks. Note that some of the photos show a steel nib, but we replaced it with the Armeny & Marion nib seen in the photos.
