Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name J Pen, Double Jewel.
Manufacturer and Year Esterbrook, made in USA -- 1950s.
Length 5-1/16 inches.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Dubonnet Red with steel trim and a black jewel at each end. Lots of black stripes in the red.
Nib "Extra Flexible" Medium steel #9788 nib. It has very smooth iridium tipping and is springy enough to give decent line variation. The Esterbrook nibs called "flexible" we find to be better described as semi-flex, however this "extra flexible" nib has genuine every day flex. Please see writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. It has a crisp imprint and the handwear doesn't affect the general appearance of the pen. It does have handwear though and some smudge like marks. No cracks, dings, dents, personalization, or plating wear. We've restored the pen and it's working very well.
