Product Description
Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen with a 14k gold fine flexible nib. There's an unusual imprint on the barrel that says "United States of America" and the nib is marked 0.585 which is rather strange, so this pen may have been intended for the non-US market.
Product Name Doric I, we are calling it a "I" because the first version came in different colors and used a different filling system
Manufacturer and Year Wahl Eversharp, USA -- 1931-35.
Length 5-3/8", smaller than oversize and larger than junior size.
Filling System Lever filler. A new sac has been installed and tested. The pen is working well.
Color This pen is "Kashmir Green," a marbled green material with gold plated trim. The trim includes a clip and a 3/16" wide cap band with rectangle cut outs. The pen is faceted.
Nib FINE Eversharp 14k gold flexible nib, with nice line variation; see writing sample below. We consider it full flex. The feed has an "M" on it.
Condition Excellent condition. The color is nicely translucent. There are two small cracks in the cap lip, but they are short and none extend as far as the cap band. There is some brassing on the cap band, and brassing and plating wear on the clip and lever. There are small marks throughout the pen including slightly worn faceted edges from posting. The cap imprint is quite legible. The barrel of the pen has a bulge where the lever ring sits inside; see below pictures. The pen is working well.
