Product Description
Type Fountain pen set
Product Name Skyline Executive, all features are broader and larger than the standard Skyline size. Very hard to find model.
Manufacturer and Year Eversharp, USA -- 1940s.
Length The fountain pen measures 5-5/8" and the pencil measures 5-7/16".
Filling System The fountain pen has a lever filling system. We replaced the sac and it's working well. The pencil has a clicker mechanism to extend and retract the leads. The opening in the cone isn't perfectly lined up with the opening in the pencil mechanism so it's hard to add leads from the cone end, but easy if you unscrew the cone, load the lead, then replace the cone. It takes 0.9mm or "thin" leads.
Color Dark green almost green black called "Marine Green." The cap, or cap equivalent for the pencil, is called amber/green striated and is a green striped yellow celluloid. The trim is gold filled.
Nib FINE 14k nib. It writes smoothly and is firm. No line variation. It was originally two-toned but most of the silver coloring has worn off.
Condition Very nice condition. The pen is in better condition than the pencil. The pen is missing its cap band and has some marks and dings on the remaining trim. The edges are slightly brassed. The cap derby has a small chip in the material just above the trim imprint. The trim imprints are worn but legible. The pencil has heavier handwear and the cone is almost entirely brassed. It has been personalized, "W R BECKSTEAD." The fountain pen does not have this imprint. Both pieces are working well.
