Type Fountain pen and mechanical pencil set
Product Name Skyline
Manufacturer and Year Eversharp, USA -- 1940s.
Length The fountain pen measures 5-5/16" (it is very tapered) and the mechanical pencil measures 5-1/4".
Filling System The fountain pen has a lever filling system. We replaced the sac and it's working well. The pencil has a clicker mechanism to extend and retract the leads. It takes .09 mm or "thin" leads. The lead size is marked on the cone, "Thin Leads." We will include a small container of leads.
Color Green Moire Stripe aka Modern is various shades of green, from pearlescent lime to forrest green, broken into lengthwise lines. The pen and pencil have gold filled trim. The cap derbies are gold, making this a special or jewelers version. The modern stripe is made of celluloid.
Nib FINE Flexible 14k nib. Please see writing sample in photos.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a classic set in a strikingly beautiful color pattern, that is shiny and unique in design. The fountain pen has light to moderate scratching. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and some scratch marks mid-barrel. There is some green ink staining near and on the barrel threads. The lever has long, thin scratch lines and a tad of plating wear along the lower edge. The cap has moderate micro-scratching throughout. The cap band has microscratching and 4-5 long, thin, and deep line scratches. The clip and derby have moderate microscratching. The mechanical pencil has light scratching throughout with a couple of long, thin scratch marks. The cone has blotchy plating wear (they are always thinly plated). The cap band has microscratching. The clip looks great; there is some blotchy plating wear along side the top of the clip. The clip imprints on both pieces are clear.
