Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen and mechanical pencil set.
Product Name Skyline (full size)
Manufacturer and Year Eversharp, USA - 1940s.
Length The fountain pen is 5-1/4", and the pencil is 5-5/16" long.
Filling System The pen is a lever filler, we've replaced the sac and it's working very well. The pencil takes 1.1mm (or "thick") leads, which it extends via the repeater system - you press on the top of the cap, just like a modern pencil. The mechanism is a little stiff - it can take a few presses of the "Magic Button" before the lead propels forward, and repelling the lead takes quite a bit of pressure.
Color Burgundy with striped red and gold colored caps and burgundy derbies. The trim is gold plated.
Nib MEDIUM MANIFOLD 14k nib is quite smooth with excellent tipping material.
Condition Excellent condition for this handsome set. Fountain pen: light handwear and scratching on the barrel and section. There are marks from capping and posting on the barrel, and the typical brassing on the lever bar where the cap lip rubs as it is posted. The cap has light to some moderate scratching and some small marks near the top of the cap and on the derby. The clip has touches of brassing along the sides and around the open end. The clip band has tiny dots of plating wear. Mechanical pencil: There is light to moderate scratching and handwear all over. The striped portion has some shallow tooth marks. The clip has brassing along the edges. The nose cone has a lot of denting, scratching, and brassing. As mentioned above, the pencil's mechanism is a bit stiff, but is operational.
