Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen and mechanical pencil (all-in-one).
Product Name Unknown.
Manufacturer and Year Good Service Pen Co., Chicago -- 1920s or 30s. Good Service Pen Co. was a Sears Roebuck brand, made by National, sold in their stores.
Length 6", capped.
Filling System The fountain pen part is a lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. The mechanical pencil takes 1.1mm pencil leads. We will include a packet of leads.
Color Vibrant bright jade green. There is a band of hatching marks just above where the pencil begins. The pen has gold filled trim consisting of a clip (with a flower etching on it), lever, and narrow cap band.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE 14k Eversharp Osmi-Iridium nib. Soft and smooth. The nib imprint suggests this was a nib made in the UK, so it is no doubt a replacement. See the writing sample below
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. This is a long, vibrantly colored pen with excellent consistency in color throughout. Starting at the fountain pen end, the barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and mainly light scratching. There is one deep scratch on the barrel just under the cap lip. The cone has brassing and some plating wear near the tip. The lever has some plating wear along the edges as well as light scratching. The cap has moderate scratching with some small deep scratches here and there. The thin cap band has microscratching and light plating wear. The clip has moderate microscratching, plating wear along the edges, and a few small pits. The floral pattern on the clip is lovely and clear. The barrel imprint is clear.
