Color Smooth black hard rubber with a 3/8" gold filled ornate cap band. The cap band has lots of detailing and a cartouche area.
Nib FLEXIBLE EXTRA FINE Grieshaber Chicago No.4 nib is smooth with nice tipping material. Almost full flex. The line variation is strong with great hairlines from the extra fine tipping. Please see writing sample below. Please note: The tines are very close together and when nudged can be made to overlap. It's not something that happens during normal writing though, but if you trying to flex and write at an angle (which you shouldn't!), you might find the tines will cross.
Condition Excellent + condition. The pen has a few fine scratches and slightly inconsistent coloring. The main barrel imprint is legible. The imprint at the end of the barrel is barely legible as a 014 in a diamond. No cracks or chips. The cap band has held up well with a few marks and one or two areas that could have fine hammering work or be very shallow dents. The pen has been personalized, "W. G. MYERS." There are a few shallow bite marks on the cap.
