Product Description
Type Vintage lever fill fountain pen.
Product Name Jewel, oversize version
Manufacturer and Year John Holland, USA - 1920s
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Lever filler (We have replaced the bladder and it works very well.)
Color Black and pearl. Black end pieces with flat tops. Gold filled clip and lever. Double cap band.
Nib Jewel John Holland CIN.O 14k nib looks like a Medium. Firm, no flex.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. The trim on Holland pens tends to be very high quality, so there is very little brassing. This is a nice-sized, shiny pen in a great color pattern. The color of the "pearl" areas has ambered (with a tinge of green) a bit, slightly more on the barrel than on the cap. The cap and barrel have some wear, but the only real flaw is a few deep bite marks at the end of the barrel and near the top of the cap (see photo). The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip. The lever looks nice with just a little plating wear along the lower edge. The double cap band has moderate scratches and there is some plating wear along some of the edges. The clip has plating wear on the ball end and along the edges. The imprint is clear.
