Product Description
Type Twist filler fountain pen with check protector that is under a thin cap on the top of the fountain pen cap.
Product Name We think this is model 600. It's got a #6 nib and a 6 on the end of the barrel. Please see this great reference page on the Richard Binder web site. The Securograph Pen Company (owned by John and George Kritikson) was located in Mount Carmel, Illinois and later moved to Oakland City, Indiana where the name was changed the name to The Security Pen Company.
Manufacturer and Year Security Pen Co. Probably mid 1920s.
Length 5-3/4"
Filling System Twist fill. We have restored it with a new sac. The filling system is fairly simple in that you submerge the nib in ink and twist the end of the barrel about one full turn, then return it to its original position and wait 10 or more seconds before pulling the pen out of the ink.
Color Black chased hard rubber. Nice and dark with only minor lightening. Gold filled trim. The cliip has two humps and a pin in the middle and there is a spring at the top of the clip.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE #6 Security nib. See writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a large, substantial pen that has unique features (check protector and unusual clip). The chasing is fully intact on the cap and barrel. The color is excellent with only minor lightening at the end of the barrel. The cap band is excellent. The clip has pitting around the center pin but is otherwise lovely. There are no significant scratches. The imprints are clear.
