Product Description
Type Limited edition piston fill fountain pen.
Product Name William Shakespeare. This is #50 of 388 pens produced.
Manufacturer and Year Krone, USA -- 1999.
Length 5-3/4"
Filling System Piston filler, tested and working well. Once the blind cap is removed it looks like a captive converter but there is no converter to access.
Color Shimmery purple acrylic with elaborate sterling silver trim. The Shakespeare portrait and mulberry tree decorations are 18k gold. The barrel also features an embedded piece of wood from the mulberry tree that Shakespeare planted at his Stratford-Upon-Avon home.
Nib MEDIUM 18k two-toned nib is smooth and springy, even a little flexible. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. There is moderate scratching at the end of the barrel, likely from posting. The rest of the pen has light microscratching and handwear. All of the sterling trim and gold decorations look great.
We've heard fountain pen collectors refer to ultra-scare pens as Unobtanium; so few actual relics from Shakespeare's lifetime exist that the wood embedded in this pen is for all practical purposes just that!
