Product Description
Type Fountain pen with piston filling system
Product Name Lamy 2000
Manufacturer and Year Lamy, Germany -- Lamy introduced this pen in 1966 and has made minimal changes to the pen over the years. It's hard to date them though because the older features still appear in newer pens on occasion. The Lamy stamp is on the side of the clip on this pen. The section has ink viewing windows. This pen does date from before 2009, as there is a small Makrolon piece where the breather hole is.
Length 5-7/16"
Filling System Piston filling system. We've tested it and it's working well.
Color Black Makrolon (polycarbonate plastic reinforced with fiberglass). It has a stainless steel clip and a matte finish. The section is silver and there are oblong viewing windows.
Nib MEDIUM 14k gold which has been plated with platinum. Note: we did not pull out the nib to confirm the width; this is our judgement.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a medium size pen that has good weight and that has an industrial appearance. The cap and barrel do not have scratches or shiny areas though it must be said that this material makes it very difficult to see scratches. There is one tiny green dot on the barrel, about an inch from the end. The top of the cap has faint scratching. The imprint is clear.
