Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Safari, in a discontinued color
Manufacturer and Year Lamy, W Germany -- 1980s. The model was introduced in 1980, and this is part of the first generation - it has the hard-to-find metal squeeze-bar converter, and there's no imprint in the circle in the end of the barrel (it does say "W. Germany" on one of the flat edges near the end of the barrel - documentations of these details can be found on Fountain Pen Network thread on and on the Stationery Wiki).
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Lamy cartridge or converter filled. A metal squeeze converter is installed.
Color Terracotta or "Terrarot" model. It is a nice matte reddish orange with black clip and trim.
Nib BROAD steel nib. The nib is completely unmarked but a sticker on the box labels it as a broad.
Condition Excellent + condition, in a remarkably well-kept original Safari box. There are some ink stains on the nib collar. There are some small surface marks near the end of the barrel, around the "W. Germany" imprint, and a few other very light scratches on the cap and barrel. The pen looks amazing and ships with its original box and paperwork.
