Product Description
Type Rollerball pen
Product Name Safari, in a discontinued color that was revibed circa 2025.
Manufacturer and Year Lamy, W Germany -- 1980, the model was introduced in 1980.
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Takes the proprietary Lamy M63 rollerball refill. An early refill, a red one marked West Germany, is installed in the pen, and we will also include a new working refill.
Color Terracotta or "Terrarot" model. It is a nice matte reddish orange with black clip and trim. The top jewel is black and has the single stripe that designates it as a rollerball; the fountain pens have a cross or X in it to differentiate them.
Condition Excellent condition, in original box. There are some smoothed out bite marks at the end of the barrel, and we've included a detailed shot of this area in the photos. Ships in an early Safari box, which is a fairly clever construction for the time. Lamy made plastic endcaps for the sides (matching the color of the pen), with cutouts for a piece of cardboard between them to make a box (note that the photo shows the box opened improperly, the cardboard top should be slotted into the two plastic side pieces). There is also a small instruction sheet included in the box.
