Condition Excellent condition. These early celluloids tend to be delicate, and this is no exception. There is a dimpled area at the very top of the cap from which a series of cracks radiates -- see photo below. If you look closely you'll see some fine hairline fractures mid-way on the cap, but none on the cap lip. You'll see some other hairline franctures on the barrel, but none extend to the barrel threads. The material does have some scratching, but it's still fairly shiny and smooth. There is some brassing and plating wear on the clip, especially towards the top. The cap bands look really good. No dings, dents, or personalization. The pen is fully restored and working very well.
When in near-mint condition, this model is usually priced well over $1500. We have taken the defects into account in our pricing.
You definitely want to handle this pen carefully, especially when filling it. The barrel fits very tightly around the slide filler, and opening/closing it requires a firm grip.
