Product Description
Type Loiminchay limited edition fountain pen .... neat design! We love the way the pieces snap together. Loiminchay product page is seen here.
Product Name Patrick Babe .... Described by Loiminchay as follows:
Produced in Italy, the resin, celluloid and
metal Babe, as it is called, has sleek lines
and an arterial burst of color.
For an added bit of drama, the clip is
deployed via a tiny button hidden by the
pressure-fit cap. Inspiration is from the lines
of an “old space ship", conjured mostly from
visceral interpretations.
Manufacturer and Year Loiminchay. Created as described above in Italy, 2000s. Limited to 1888 pens produced (this one is #118/1888). The MSRP on this pen was over $2500.
Length 5-1/2" long. It does not post.
Filling System International cartridge/converter. A converter is installed. To access the converter, you pull the section straight out from the barrel; there's no twisting involved.
Color Black with red detail along the side. Silver clip with a red lacquer stripe.
Nib MEDIUM two-tone 18k gold (marked 750) nib.
Condition New condition. There is light scratching on the cap and barrel picked up in storage. The bottom of the cap is numbered 118/1888.
Note that the grip section is not round - it's kind of flattened, with concave edges on the sides. If you're accustomed to only using rounded sections, it's a bit of an adjustment to hold this pen.
