Product Description
Type Vintage safety pen in excellent working condition with a flexible nib.
Product Name Unknown
Manufacturer and Year Produced in Milan, Italy, in the 1920s or 1930s. Made by Gustavo Maier (whose name inspired the brand name "Ma-Gus" or Magus).
Length 4-7/8" capped.
Filling System Safety Pen, restored here at PSP with a new seal. (To use a safety pen, you uncap it, fill the barrel with ink, then operate the knob on the end of the barrel to extend the nib. The nib seals when fully extended, allowing you to write with an already ink-primed nib. When you are done writing, point the nib at the ceiling and operate the knob to retract the nib. Then screw on the cap and the pen is sealed.) We will send instructions for usage when we ship the pen.
Color Black hard rubber, almost completely covered with ornately carved rolled 18k gold. The overlay has alternating panels of wavy lines and plain lines. Fancy clip and finial.
Nib FLEXIBLE fine, really good flex (see writing sample below). Marked "Superior 14k Ideal Iridium Pen."
Condition Excellent + condition. No dents or dings except for two small marks on the plain section at the end of the barrel, near the imprint. Some brassing on the heavily carved cap top and clip. No personalization.
