Product Description
Type Glass dip pen
Product Name Storm Glass +
Manufacturer and Year Glass Studio Matsubokkuri, Japan - recent
Length 6-13/16" long
Filling System Glass dip pen. You dip the tip into ink and write.
Color Clear glass with amethyst pebbles suspended in liquid. The liquid is "storm glass" (see note below).
Nib Fine. It should give you a line from about 0.2-0.3mm.
Condition Excellent + condition for this unusual dip pen. The tip feels much smoother than many we encounter in glass dip pens. No scratches on the surface, and the novelty of the "storm glass" feature adds a bit of whimsy.
Note: Wikipedia tells us that storm glass is a solution that is purported to change according to the weather. Crystals form inside the solution of distilled water, ethanol, potassium nitrate, and ammonium chloride. Research tells us that it probably acts merely as a thermoscope, a crude forerunner to the thermometer.
