Filling System Lever filler. We have replaced the sac and it's working well. We guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Marbled brown or bronze on a black background. Black section and end pieces. Gold-plated trim. Three cap bands.
Nib Flexible medium 14k nib. The nib is marked "Warranted 14c T.D.L.R. & Co. Ltd, --33--" (see note below about this). But also be sure to look at the writing sample in he photos! The nib has good tipping material, and flexes from fine-medium to double broad with light pressure.
Condition Excellent + condition. This lovely little pen is shiny, and has a really lovely color. The cap and barrel have light scratching and handwear. There are some marks on either end of the barrel from the cap lip. The ribbed end pieces add an unusual flair to the pen's styling. The clip has brassing around the top and on the ball end. The cap bands have light scratching and some shallow denting, and some touches of plating wear. The lever is brassed and has some tiny dots of pitting. The imprints are clear.
Note: After quite a bit of digging, we think that the nib might have been made by The De La Rue company, which was a highly regarded (though not well-known) maker in the late 1800s until the 1950s. We've found other nibs with the imprint "T.D.L.R & Co. Ltd" that looks very similar to the imprint on this nib, and believe that this nib may have an incomplete or worn stamping.
