Product Description
Type Vintage push-knob fountain pen
Product Name Model 20 (it's engraved on the end cap)
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- c.1930s
Length 4-15/16"
Filling System Push-knob filler. This is the same idea as a button filler, except that rather than removing the blind cap, you unscrew the end knob a bit and push it to squeeze the air out of the sac. This pen has been restored by Sherrell Tyree of Ink-Pen.com.
Color Coral red with gold plated trim, and black section and finials.
Nib EXTRA FINE nib. Has a bit of flex as seen in the writing sample below. (Marked EF on the blind cap.)
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks, chips, large scratches, or personalization. The handwear is even, and the barrel imprint is mostly worn in the middle, though still quite readable. The end knob requires quite a bit of pressure to push it down, and your fingers tend to grip smack in the middle of the barrel, so that probably explains most of the wear there. Cap imprint looks great and still has some of the gold color in the grooves. There's a fair bit of brassing on the clip, and some on the cap rings, but still a good amount of plating remains overall.
