Type Piston filling fountain pen
Product Name 244G - the 2xx series were their mid-tier line, the 4 in the 10s place indicatess that it's a piston-filler, and then the final 4 means it has a size 4 nib. The G at the end probably identifies the gold nib, though this is a topic of discussion in the forums.
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- 1950s. It has the flat ebonite/"ski slope" feed from that era.
Length Right at 5" long.
Filling System Piston filler. Restored with a new seal.
Color Gray Striated celluloid with gold plated trim. Two thin cap rings.
Nib FINE Montblanc 14C nib, marked F on the blind cap. It's semi-flexible and gives good line variation from a medium-fine to double broad. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. Light handwear and microscratching. No cracks or chips. The cap bands have some brassing. The clip has some plating wear near the open end, and brassing along the edges. The imprints are clear.
