Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Model 149
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- 1970s. It looks like it has a replacement barrel from the 1980s or it was a 1980s pen with 1960s/70s parts. Both are possible. The round ebonite with grooved face feed was used from 1965-72. It also has friction fit plastic threads, which were used 1959-68. The nib was used mostly in the 1960s but there is evidence that it was used in the 70s as well.
Length 5-7/8"
Filling System Piston filler. It's been cleaned and tested and is working well.
Color Black barrel with gold plated trim.
Nib MEDIUM 18k Nib. The nib is a very springy tri-tone 18C Montblanc 4810 nib. The pen has a round ebonite with grooved face feed.
Condition Excellent condition. The Germany imprint is a bit worn and there's some thin looking plating on the trim. There are two scratches on the cap lip beneath the S and E in Meisterstuck. One goes to the cap lip and one doesn't but we checked and they're not deep and they're not cracks. The barrel has some long microscratches and a band on the barrel that lines up with the cap. The plastic piston seal and the viewing window are very clear.
