Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, West Germany - late 1980s. The Solitaire was first introduced in 1986, and serial numbers came along in 1991. There is no serial number on the clip band, which is stamped with "W. Germany". The literature mentions Montblanc being a manufacturer of writing instruments in Hamburg, West Germany, reinforcing the late 1980s date.

Filling System Takes Montblanc ballpoint refills. A working blue refill is installed. Twist the cap portion of the pen to extend the refill.
Color Sterling silver in a pinstripe pattern (aka Godron), gold plated trim.
Condition Excellent condition, in box with paperwork. There is light to moderate scratching on the cap and barrel. No dents or dings. The cap bands have some plating wear. There are scattered areas of tarnish, especially in the grooves running the length of the pen. This is an elegant and gorgeous executive pen. The imprints are clear.
