Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- early 2000s. The Starwalker is still part of the Montblanc lineup, but this grid trim is discontinued.
Length 5-9/16 inches and heavy.
Filling System Takes Montblanc screw in rollerball and fineliner (fiber-tip) refills. A good working refill is installed.
Color Matte black rubber finished body with a diamond-cut grid pattern. The trim is platinum plated. The Montblanc logo floats in the clear cap finial and is visible when looking at the cap straight on. The end of the pen is threaded for the cap.
Condition Very nice condition, in box, with paperwork. This is a uniquely designed, heavy rubber pen with shiny platinum plating. The cap and barrel grids are crisply outlined. There is some light chipping and wear along some of the grid edges and there are a few deep scratches in the rubber material at the end of the barrel. The pointed cone at the end of the barrel has microscratching as does the shiny section and rollerball cone. The clip looks excellent. There are a few dots of pitting on the upper edge of the clip band. The clear cap finial and the floating Montblanc logo look great. The imprints and serial number are clear.
