Product Description
Type Vintage school fountain pen
Product Name Turbo
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- 1978-1984
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Cartridge/converter. A Montblanc converter is installed.
Color Brushed stainless steel with black finials. Black plastic section.
Nib MEDIUM steel nib. There's an "M" sticker on the barrel. We find that Montblanc nibs tend to run a bit narrower than other European brands, and this one looks closer to fine.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a sleek silver pen, originally sold as a school pen in the late 1970s to the mid-80s. The barrel looks great, with just some small scratches. The cap also has light scratching, just a bit more than the barrel. There are tiny dots of pitting visible under magnification near the lips of both cap and barrel. The section looks great. Both end finials are perfect. It's unusual to find Montblanc's White Star logo on both ends of the pen!
Note on the section: TAKE CARE WHEN HANDLING THE SECTION. We have read that the plastic here may become brittle over time, and the section is prone to cracking at the threads. If that happens to you, we are unable to repair the pen or offer a refund. The discussion linked above does include a note from someone who makes replacement pen parts, and he may be able to sell you a piece to replace and reinforce the threads.
