Type Limited Edition Fountain Pen
Product Name Montblanc Writers Edition Alexandre Dumas. See the Montblanc page on this pen model. #18951/20000 N (15000 were sold individually and 5000 were sold in sets. The N means that this is a "corrected" replacement cap). The Dumas model had an initial design error where it included the wrong Alexandre Dumas's signature on the cap. Length 5-3/8".
Filling System Piston filler.
Color Black cap, section, and end piece with a white marble body. It has lots of gold plated trim and the fine bands have designs. Alexandre Dumas's (the correct one) signature is to the right of the clip.
Nib Broad Italic 18k Nib. It's very smooth and has good line variation. See the writing sample below. The nib is slightly springy and is decorated with rhodium masking and a fleur-de-lis imprint. The masking is a bit thin, especially around the fleur-de-lis.
Condition Near mint with hardly any handwear and clear imprints. No plating wear but there is handwear on the black resin and some polishing marks on the trim. Ships in the original Writers Series box, but no booklet or outer sleeve is included.
