Product Description
Type Limited Edition Fountain Pen
Product Name Montblanc Writers Edition Franz Kafka. See the Montblanc page on this pen model. #06964/18500. The design of the Writers Edition Franz Kafka is not only reminiscent of the simple and yet artful style of its eponym, but also pays tribute to Kafka’s most famous work: “The Metamorphosis”. In the fascinating change from square to round in the writing instrument’s form, the metamorphosis described in Kafka’s story has found its equivalent.

Condition Very nice condition in bound book box, with paperwork. This pen is not in perfect condition, but it is quite usable, and we've priced it at about half of what we'd charge for a perfect used example. The main defect is a series of fine short cracks around the lip of the cap -- we tried to photograph them, but they are very fine and subtle, but nonetheless present. They are supported by the cap band, so they are just cosmetic. This is a gorgeously colored and designed pen with a round-shaped cap that tapers to a square barrel end (thus, Metamorphasis). The end of the barrel has some light scratching. The silver end piece of the barrel has a small ding. The very top of the cap around the Montblanc emblem has a few dots of pitting. The clip has some scratching especially at the end. The imprints and Kafka signature on the cap are crisp and clear.
