Color Orange, with gold clip. This is the Arai-shu color. From the Nakaya website: "The Japanese name for this color is "Arai-shu". Even among the Japanese, the origins of this name are not are not generally known. The dye in textile fabric begins to lighten after many launderings. In the past the Japanese would describe light colors with the term "arai" which means "wash." Japanese deep red is called "shu" so "arai-shu" is the most brilliant and lightest of urushi colors."
Nib Fine 14k nib writes very smoothly.
Condition Excellent + condition. There are some areas where the ebonite is peeking through the urushi - high contact spots like the edges around the top of the cap and end of the barrel, as well as on the cap threads. This is a well-known characteristic of urushi, and is part of its beauty. No blemishes on the cap, barrel, or section. The pen is shiny and glossy with no scratches. Urushi lacquer is incredibly durable, though you should avoid storing the pen in strong light, as that degrades the finish.
Ships in original Nakaya wooden box, with outer mulberry paper box. The box is lined with red velvet, and also a protective fabric sleeve for the pen. An adapter, allowing you to use standard international cartridges in the pen, is also present.
Nakaya is the luxury line of Platinum and their cartridges and converters are interchangeable.
