Manufacturer and Year Newman Pens, early 2000s. Jim Newman Hickman was a small, well-regarded pen maker in the late 1990s and early 2000s. After several decades of woodworking, and then 12 years of making ballpoint and rollerball pens out of wood, he began to try his hand at fountain pens. He passed away in 2004.
