Product Description
Type High end modern fountain pen
Product Name Omas 360 Prototipo. It's a little smaller than the Magnum size (5-15/16" versus 6-1/4").
Manufacturer and Year Omas, made in Italy -- 2003. We know that this is the older, pre-2007 style, and there is a "2003" imprint on the cap facet where it also says "Prototipo".
Length 5-15/16" capped.
Filling System Piston Filler, fully tested and working well. We will guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase.
Color A dark blue-green color, with gold trim. The "prototipo" (prototype, in Italian) imprint on the cap suggests that this was a small batch of prototype pens to test out the color before widely marketing it. We have found other 360 Prototipos but none in this color. (This is not the dark blue-black color.)
Nib Fine 18k gold nib, marked F on the side.
Condition Excellent + condition. The clip has microscratching on the face. The cap bands and matching trim on the section also have microscratching, but we don't see any plating wear or brassing. There are marks from capping on the section. There are nicks on the collar of the pen dead center in each of the three facets, visible in the nib photos, caused by tabs inside the pen's cap that grab onto the collar when you cap the pen. The barrel has light. The trim band at the end of the barrel, near the piston knob, looks good. The imprints are clear, and the pen is working well.
There is a hairline crack in the cap lip in one of the corners, which is incredibly common in these pens. It doesn't extend beyond the cap band, and is very hard to see, but as with all Omas 360s, you'll want to be very careful to pull the cap straight off without ANY twisting motion. The rest of the cap looks good, with light microscratching and a few small scratches.
