Product Description
Type Fountain pen, working well.
Product Name Omas Extra, Paragon size (Later Paragons were bigger.)
Manufacturer and Year Omas, Italy -- c. 1992. This is not the later 80th or 90th anniversary limited edition.
Length 5-9/16".
Filling System Piston filling system. Tested and working well.
Color Burkina celluloid, which is kind of a dark olive and gold color with black flecks and streaks. Very unusual and interesting! Silver colored trim. It has a Greek key pattern cap band.
Nib LEFT OBLIQUE BROAD 18k nib. It's labeled OBD, which we've seen defined in an Omas catalog as "oblique largo destro". The O is Italian for "obliquo" and D stands for "destro", which is right or right-handed (right-handed writers usually enjoy left-foot obliques). Interesting how they used B to indicate broad and put it in the middle.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks or chips. The cap and barrel have very light scratching and handwear. The trim ring near the end of the barrel has some microscratching. The cap bands look good, as does the clip. No brassing or plating wear on the cap rings or clip. On the whole, the pen looks fantastic, and the piston mechanism is working very well.
