Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen
Product Name Parker 51 (the filling system says "Special" but the rest of the pen conforms to what you'd expect from a regular model.)
Manufacturer and Year Parker USA - made in 1951.
Length Full size pen, just barely under 5-1/2"
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filling system, we tested it and it's working very well.
Color Navy Grey with a "Lustraloy" stainless steel cap, chrome plated trim, an arrow-clip and reproduction cap jewel.
Nib FINE 14k gold nib is very smooth and firm, with lots of tipping material.
Condition Very nice condition. There's some consistent light scratching on the cap, and a mark from the clip rubbing on it, but no dents or dings. Just a little plating wear on the very top of the clip, where it anchors into the ring around the cap jewel. The cap jewel itself is a reproduction, and a slightly ore blue-ish color than the original jewel would have been. There's some wear on the barrel and the section, and the barrel is a little discolored, with a light imprint of its original color in the shape of the original sticker (visible in the photo of the filling system below). No cracks, chips, dings or dents. The imprint is worn, but you can still make it out. Working well.
