Product Name Parker 51 Aerometric Flighter, this is the earlier version with a gold plated band. They made this version from 1950 to 1960.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- both pieces have a "50" date code.

Filling System The fountain pen has an Aerometric squeeze filling system. It has been tested and is working well. The mechanical pencil takes 0.9mm leads, which extend by clicking the top half of the unit.
Color Brushed steel with "lustraloy" finish and arrow clips. For the fountain pen, the section is black. Gold plated trim, including a narrow cap band. The caps have a pearlescent cap jewel. The mechanical pencil has a unique cone at the end of the barrel that has concentric gold circles.
Nib Fine gold nib.
Condition Excellent + condition for this lovely, sleek, and lustrous fountain pen and mechanical pencil set. The fountain pen looks beautiful, with most of the marks coming from the cap lip. There are scratches on the section, as well as near the front of the barrel, and some shiny marks near the end of the barrel. The cap band has microscratching, but no brassing or plating wear. The clip has moderate plating wear. The clip band has some plating wear along the upper edge. The cap jewel looks good. The mechanical pencil has micro-scratching on the cap and barrel. The cone is unique and beautiful. The cap band has scratching and some plating wear. The clip has plating wear along the edges and high points; the clip band looks good. The cap jewel looks great. The imprints on both pieces are clear. Ships in "Parker 51" box, with insert on how to fill the pen.
