Product Name Parker 51 Aerometric
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in England, after 1950. No date code. P51 production in the UK started in 1947 and they made Vacumatic fillers for a few years before switching, in 1950, to aerometric. They used the long arrow version of the clip from 1948 to 1951, which dates this pen before 1948.
Length 5-3/8"
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filling system. Working well and guaranteed for one year from date of purchase.
Color Burgundy colored plastic body with a "RSILVER" (uncommon, rolled silver) cap with a converging lines pattern. The color might be "blood red" as that was a UK color. Short arrow clip. Pearlescent top jewel.
Nib FINE gold nib.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or dings. This is an elegant, shiny pen in a pretty color pattern. The barrel looks great with just a small scratch here or there. The cap has heavy microscratching, clearly visible to the naked eye. There is a very small dent mid-cap to the far right of the clip. The clip and clip ring look excellent with just some light microscratching, mainly on the clip. The top pearlescent jewel has lovely color as well as a few small scratches. The imprint is clear.
