Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Parker 51 Fantasy Aerometric
Manufacturer and Year Parker, Sheaffer, and Other - the pen was assembled using a combination of Parker parts (nib assembly, filling system, hood) and re-manufactured parts. The barrel material looks like Sheaffer material. The cap was made in Argentina, so it might have been an Ariel Kulock creation, though he is not the only pen marker doing Parker 51s.
Length Full size pen, 5-5/8"
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filling system
Color Similar to the "Tiger Eye" material originally used on the Sheaffer Levenger Balance II. Olive green and yellow with black and red tones. The acrylic is a bit like the vintage candy stripe patterns. The material is used for the barrel. The pen has a black section. The cap is a gold filled "custom" cap with grouped converging lines pattern, pearlescent cap jewel, and arrow clip.
Nib We think this is a retipped gold 1.3mm stub nib, and not a factory original. It is smooth and flares out a little. See the writing sample below. It looks like the work done by Greg Minuskin, but we are not certain.
Condition Excellent condition. The barrel has no scratches or cracks. The section is clean. (When we got the pen it had a cracked hood, so we replaced it with a black Parker hood.) The cap has thin plating and you can see the silver colored under-material peeking thru along the edge of the cap and elsewhere. It looks much better in hand than it does in the photographs. The cap has other small marks but no dents or dings.
