Product Description
Type Mechanical pencil with the "repeater" mechanism.
Product Name Parker "51" pencil.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1950 (the date code is a clear 50).
Length Standard size pencil, 5-3/16 inches.
Filling System Takes 0.9mm (or "Thin") leads, which it extends by the cap-actuated, or "repeater" mechanism - you click the cap down to extend a lead, very similar to modern day mechanical pencils. The mechanism is working very well. We'll include a small packet of leads.
Color Black body with a Lustraloy steel cap, the arrow clip and a pearlescent cap jewel.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks, chips, dents or personalization. The cap has a small ding on the upper edge where it meets the tassie, and there are a few dots of pitting just under the top of the clip to the right. The barrel has microscratching. The imprint on the barrel is somewhat faded, though the year code is clear. The grooves on the cone piece are sharp. The clip has brassing on the tip as can be seen in the photo. The pearlescent jewel has crackling.
