Product Description
Type Rollerball pen, modeled after a Parker 51 Aerometric. NOT made by Kullock!
Product Name Parker "51" Rollerball.
Manufacturer and Year Unknown – circa 1990s. This is a high quality creation, very well made, as opposed to the Ariel Kullock P51 rollerballs which are hit-and-miss in terms of quality and fit. Another major difference is this pen uses international standard rollerball refills, as opposed to the Parker rollerball refills which Kullock used.
Length 5-1/4"
Filling System Take standard international rollerball refills - a Schmidt 888 refill is currently installed.
Color Velvety black with 1/10 12k gold filled cap with a pattern of converging lines, an arrow clip, and a pearlescent cap jewel.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips. This is a velvety black, shiny pen with classic styling. The barrel has light to moderate handwear. There is moderate to heavy scratching on the section and front of the barrel where the cap's inner clutch scrapes. The cap has microscratching. The cap lip is smooth and clean. The clip has some plating wear along the sides and high points, as well as around the open end. The pearlized jewel looks great. The imprints are clear.
We have to admit, this is a pen we've never seen before! As far as we can tell, it was NOT made by Kullock, but rather another maker in the 90s who was playing around with Parker-like pens. The "51" has had some ballpoint versions, but NEVER had a rollerball. Parker did introduce rollerball pens in 1981 with the Vector (which was originally called "RB1"), and the Parker 25 also had a rollerball version.
