Product Description
Type Aerometric filling fountain pen, working well.
Product Name Parker 51 Special (Specials usually have octantium nibs, but towards the end of the model life Parker started putting 14k nibs on them.)
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in U.S.A. -- 1960-64, based off of the cap information.
Length 5-3/8 inches, full size.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filling system. We've cleaned and tested it, it's working well.
Color The color is blue. It looks similar to the midnight blue and is very dark. It photographed as almost black, but we believe this was just designated blue. It has a shiny stainless steel cap with an arrow clip, chrome plated trim, and black cap jewel as is common on Specials.
Nib Extra Fine 14k nib. It is a smooth writer with nice tipping. Parker 51 Specials usually had octanium nibs but they did occasionally have gold nibs.
Condition Very nice condition. The body of the pen looks great with handwear and one or two marks in addition to the capping ones near the clutch band. The cap has handwear, and has two or three marks as well, but no dents or dings. The clip has a lot of wear. The pen is working well.
