Product Description
Type Aerometric filling fountain pen, working well.
Product Name Parker 51 Special.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in U.S.A. -- late 1950s (but there is no date code, correct for a pen after 1951)
Length 5-7/16 inches, full size.
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filling system. We've cleaned and tested it, it's working well.
Color Black body with a shiny stainless steel cap with an arrow clip, chrome plated trim, and black cap jewel as is common on Specials.
Nib FINE steel nib is smooth and firm with nice tipping material.
Condition Mint condition, in box. The pen looks new, however the barrel is heavily personalized - apparently it was presented as "The Ohio State University President's Scholarship Award, April 24, 1958". Beyond that barrel engraving, it looks like the recipient received the pen and pretty much immediately forgot about it. The barrel looks great. The sac is unstained. There are barely any marks on the section, which suggests that the cap hasn't been removed much, if at all. The cap and clip are perfect - again, very shiny, and minimal marks. The cap jewel is perfect. No cracks, chips, dings, or dents. The Parker imprint is clear.
