Product Description
Type Vintage collectible fountain pen & pencill set in excellent working condition. Hard to find color, one of the most desireable.
Product Name Parker 51 Double Jewel
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1948. Pen's barrel has a clear 8 date code, which is rather late for a double jewel set.
Length Pen is 5-3/8" long, and pencil is 5-1/8"
Filling System Vacumatic filling system. We have restored and tested it, and it's working very well.
Color Mustard yellow body. Cap is 1/10 16k gold-filled, with a pattern of grouped parallel lines and a cartouche for engraving. The pen has two pearlescent jewels, and the pencil has a pearlescent jewel on its "cap." Clips and pencil tip are marked 14k.
Nib Fountain pen has a fine gold nib. Pencil uses 0.9mm leads, which extend and retract by twisting the cap.
Condition Excellent + restored condition, in box. No cracks, chips, or personalization. Fountain pen has good color, nice and even. The gold band in the clutch ring is still mostly gold colored. Only slight handwear on the body of the pen. Cap has a couple of shallow dents, which we've tried to capture in the pictures below. Jewels are beautiful, very smooth and evenly colored. Clip is marked 14k. Pencil is likewise nicely colored. Light handwear and microscratching, and one visible "scrape" on the barrel. Nose cone looks great, and is marked 14k. Imprints on both pieces are crisp and clear.
