Product Description
Type Vintage vacumatic filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Parker 51 Vacumatic.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1948 (the date code is a clear 8 with no dots).
Length 5-1/2 inches.
Filling System Piston/plunger (Vacumatic). We've fully restored the filling system with a new diaphragm and it's working well.
Color Cedar blue body with a brushed steel "Lustraloy" cap, a chrome-plated arrow clip, and a pearlescent cap jewel.
Nib MEDIUM hooded steel nib is smooth and firm with good tipping material. This year of Parker 51 would have had a gold nib, so this is a later replacement.
Condition Very nice. No cracks, chips, dings, dents, or personalization. The blind cap and barrel match and fit together well. The barrel, blind cap and hood show only polishing marks and light scratches, and the imprint is complete and readable (date code:"8"). There are scattered pits and brassing on the clip, which is straight and tight and inscribed "PARKER.". The cap has only micro-scratches and is overall smooth with only one small ripple. The pen has been fully restored and it's working well.
